demonstrations! Students will participate in hands-on science while discussing science
vocabulary. Explore the world of science with topics like density, matter, chemical reactions,

germination, magnetism, sound, and more! Students are asked to keep a 3-ring binder to
organize class materials.

FARM TO TABLE

Class Description: 

Where does our food come from? How is it raised, grown, processed, and delivered to our grocery stores? How has food production changed over time? What does GMO and organic mean? These are just some questions that will be explored in class. From seeds to corn, chicks to eggs, and calves to beef, students will learn terms like pasteurization, horticulture, fertilizer, and pesticides. We will discuss soil composition and the food chain. Farm to Table is a practical class that merges real science with the food we eat every day!

EXPLORING HUMAN ANATOMY - HANDS-ON!

Class Description: From brains to toenails and parts in between, students will discover the human body and how God intelligently designed us all. Class includes mini-lesson, hands on activities/experiments. A full year syllabus/work schedule will be offered for reading and light written work at home for those that utilize the textbook for this course. Additionally the Jr. Notebooking Journal offers a simple way to keep written work in one organized location.

CHRISTIAN KIDS EXPLORE BIOLOGY

Class Description: Humans, Plants and Animals - our intelligent designer made them all! Lessons will cover the basics of biology! Class includes a lesson and either hands-on activities or experiments or written activities to reinforce the lesson for the day. Students will keep a science notebook (3 ringed binder). Allow for 2-3 days of homework 30-45 minutes each. Students complete an Animal Project with short report in the spring.

Supply Fee: $35 per term -- plus approx. $40 for book download/print/binder (final cost t/b/d)

Required Text: Christian Kids Explore Biology by Stephanie Redmond (Only available through digital download). Instructor will collect for this book and have them printed and given to students.

EXPLORING CREATION WITH GENERAL SCIENCE

Grade Range: 7th-9th

Class Description: Students will learn to see God's hand in all of life as they learn about the world He made; they will also read testimonies from modern-day scientists who interpret data through a Christian worldview. We will study a wide range of topics including the scientific method, designing experiments, simple machines, geology, archaeology, biology, and more, with a large focus on Earth Science (astronomy, meteorology, oceanography, earth study, geology, paleontology, and environmental science). Class time will consist of a lesson and some written work. Lab will consist of Hands-on experiments and activities giving students practical experience as they discover the principles behind science and learn how to record and report data. Testing will be offered. This is a 2 period class consisting of lesson/lecture and lab.

Homework: Allow for at least 3 days of homework-1 hour each day.

Class will be an integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math for students in grades 6-10.  (Advanced 5th graders are welcome.)  Promote your child's critical thinking, problem solving, science literacy, and creative thinking while building real life projects to make scientific principles tangible and concrete! This course will focus on foundational physics and being able to complete full lab write-ups!

Supply Fee: $60 first term/ $10 second term
